What are Guest Directories?
Guest Directories are created to assist with many hotel and guest needs. They are printed in full color and typically range from 18–24 pages. However, the size and quality is determined by your hotel needs. Your Guest Directory, which is placed in each hotel room for 12 months, serves as a 24-hour in-room concierge, providing answers to some of the most common guest questions, safety and security procedures, area maps, an advertising section that covers a wide variety of advertisers, as well as a way to market your hotel guest services. A well thought out directory will also help your guests discover places to go and things to do while visiting your area. This is your Guest Directory, therefore it is custom designed with the information you wish to include.

What is expected of the hotel?
The entire Guest Directory production expense, which includes binders, graphic design, typesetting, printing and shipping is covered by revenues generated from advertising sales to nearby businesses. Your hotel or motel will be required to provide the US Adworks Sales Representative with a complimentary room and local phone and fax privileges for the duration of the stay. This stay will be done on your schedule. The Sales Rep will already have a limited knowledge of the area, although the more information provided by you will only improve the quality of your Guest Directory. A hotel questionnaire will be provided for you to complete. Typically, after no more than twenty (20) days of sales efforts, the Sales Rep will have a final meeting with the General Manager to obtain any additional information to be included. Then your Guest Directory goes into production. Once your Guest Directory proof is ready, you will be asked to review it for any changes, errors, or corrections and give your final approval.
What can I expect to receive from US Adworks?
US Adworks will provide your hotel or motel, free of charge, enough Guest Directories (single binders plus information sheets) for each guest room you have, plus an additional 15%. If at any time during your two-year hotel agreement, you need additional copies of your Guest Directory, or binders, we can provide them at market price.
What type of 3-Ring Binder is used?
Our standard binder is a solid white half-inch 3-ring binder. The outside cover and spine of the binders can accommodate inserts. If your hotel requires alternate binders, we can provide you with the required binders for a minimal fee.
What determines the style of Guest Directory that I can choose?
Many properties have specific corporate guidelines. US Adworks makes every effort to keep up with all current specifications. This is to ensure that you will meet all of your corporate guidelines. If you do not have any specific guidelines, US Adworks has a variety of production options. Feel free to inquire about all the options available for your Guest Directory. What steps are taken to produce our Guest Directories?
If you’re already talking to one of our sales representatives, he or she will guide you through all of the steps to get your Guest Directory produced. You may also contact our Rocky Mount office directly.
  1. Contact US Adworks at 1.800.441.3002, or email us at info@usadworks.com (unless you’re already working with one of our sales reps).
  2. Complete a Hotel Agreement which defines the style of directory, as well as other terms and responsibilities of both parties.
  3. Your property is then assigned to one our sales representatives (unless you’re already working with one).
  4. Once a US Adworks sales representative is assigned to your property, he or she will contact you to make a reservation and get started.
Will I need to meet with the sales representative?
Yes. We will obtain as much relevant information possible during the initial meeting with the General Manager, or authorized individual. This is the time to point out any businesses that you do NOT want the sales representitive to solicit. However, too many constraints could result in an unsatisfactory Guest Directory. You will be asked to provide the Sales Representative with referrals of whom you would like to see as an advertiser in your product. We try to solicit merchants that offer services that your guests may need while visiting your city.
How do we make a change to our Guest Directory during the year?

Why is it important that my staff support the advertisers in my Directory?
The advertisers in your Guest Directory are business people too. If they advertise in your Guest Directory, they will want to see results from their investment. If your staff recommends and supports the advertisers through the Front Desk, the advertisers will be more likely to renew, which will only improve the quality of your Guest Directory. Enabling outside vendors who do not support your Guest Directory to clutter the Front Desk area with menus, brochures, flyers, coupons, etc. can result in a substandard Guest Directory, and poor service to your Guests.
